Conservative Friends of Russia / Westminster Russia Forum

Campaign group

Conservative Friends of Russia (CFR) was a group founded in 2012 and launched at the Russian Embassy in London, with the aim of promoting closer ties between the UK and Russia. After a series of scandals it was rebranded as the Westminster Russia Forum (WRF), a nominally non-partisan group, though multiple published sources have identified it as a continuation of the same organisation. The WRF hosted events with numerous Conservative MPs and echoed official Kremlin positions, while operating without any requirement to register as a lobbyist. It disbanded in March 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
