GB News is a TV channel and online content creator founded in 2021 by Paul Marshall and Legatum. It has been repeatedly criticised for its supposedly sympathetic stance toward the Reform party, including having two Reform MPs among its presenters. DeSmog reported that GB News paid its two Reform MP presenters over £1 million between the 2024 general election and June 2026. The channel has been found by Ofcom to have breached broadcasting standards on multiple occasions. It has faced accusations of broadcasting climate misinformation, health misinformation, anti-Muslim content, antisemitic conspiracy theories, anti-LGBTQ+ content, and anti-disabled sentiment. Research from Cardiff University found that GB News viewers were "substantially more likely" to falsely believe net migration had increased over the past year than viewers of other major broadcasters.
The Daily Mail is a right-wing national newspaper owned by Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), chaired by Lord Jonathan Rothermere. The Mail and its stablemates consistently publish editorials hostile to climate action. DMGT's parent company derives around a quarter of its total revenue from hosting oil and gas industry events in Middle East petrostates including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The Mail has a long record of anti-immigration coverage; a Financial Times analysis found that UK public concern about immigration has historically tracked mentions of immigration in the Daily Mail. In 2025, the paper was admonished by press regulator IPSO for making false claims about the number of illegal immigrants in London. Rothermere's wife Claudia donated £50,000 to Reform UK in 2025.
