Julia Hartley-Brewer
PersonJulia Hartley-Brewer is a right-wing broadcaster who hosts the weekday morning show on Talk. She previously worked as political correspondent, political editor, and assistant editor at the Sunday Express. She sits on the Advisory Council of the Free Speech Union and has donated to the organisation. She spoke at a Leave Means Leave rally in Parliament Square in March 2019. She has repeatedly denied the scientific consensus on climate change on air, including stating "I don't believe that humans are driving climate change... there's really no evidence for this at all". In January 2024, an interview with Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti prompted over 17,000 Ofcom complaints after she told him "maybe you're not used to women talking"; Ofcom issued strong guidance to TalkTV but took no further action. In July 2025, she claimed that many images of starving children in Gaza were "propaganda" and suggested a mother photographed with a malnourished child was "quite chubby" — comments described as "revolting" and "demonstrably false".
