Lee Anderson

Person

Lee Anderson is a Reform MP for Ashfield, Reform's Chief Whip, and Chair of Reform UK since May 2026. He is also a presenter on GB News, for which he earns £100,000 per year on top of his MP salary. A former coal miner, Anderson served as a Labour councillor on Ashfield District Council from 2015, before being suspended in February 2018 after using a digger to place concrete blocks at a car park entrance to prevent Travellers from setting up camp. He defected to the Conservatives in March 2018, citing the "takeover" of Labour by the hard left, and was elected as Conservative MP for Ashfield in 2019. In February 2024, he was suspended from the Conservative Party after claiming on GB News that "Islamists have got control" of London Mayor Sadiq Khan and refusing to apologise. He joined Reform in March 2024, becoming its first MP, and was re-elected as a Reform MP in the 2024 general election.
