Charlie Downes

Charlie Downes is a political campaigner who worked for Reform during the 2024 general election, before joining Restore Britain, where he has become Campaigns Director. He has variously been described as co-founder and research fellow at the Centre for Migration Control, and is a frequent contributor on GB News and Talk. He has described remigration as "a political and demographic necessity", claimed that Bob Marley "by virtue of having an ethnically British ancestor" is more British than Rishi Sunak, and said that anyone who talks to a child about sex and sexuality who is not that child's parent "belongs in prison". In August 2026, Downes became a significant obstacle to a potential merger between Reform and Restore Britain, after sharing an image implying Farage was being controlled by Jewish supporters; Reform stated there could be "no question of any agreement with Lowe's party while Downes was in place". He also helped manage the London mayoral campaign of independent candidate Andreas Michli, who ran on a platform including opposition to 5G and has promoted the use of crystals in airports to protect against "harmful frequencies".
