Jonathan Brown

Person

Jonathan Brown is the founder and CEO of the Centre for a Better Britain (CFABB) and former Chief Operating Officer of Reform UK, a role he held until October 2024. Brown previously worked as a civil servant in the Ministry of Defence and Foreign Office before becoming a strategic communications consultant in the Middle East. In September 2025, he told the Financial Times that "what the country needs now is radical change" and that the UK is "in danger of being technically a democracy but run by the judiciary and bureaucrats", identifying the Supreme Court, the ministerial code, the Climate Change Act and the Equalities Act as "obstacles" to a future right-wing government. CFABB is based in Millbank Tower, a few floors below Reform's own headquarters, and has reportedly had direct contact with Farage, meeting him and deputy leader Richard Tice in spring 2025. CFABB has raised over £1 million from unnamed British donors, and is funded by friends of Farage Mark Thompson and David Lilley. It has sought funding from Trump allies, the tech sector, and religious conservatives in the US.
