David Lilley
PersonDavid Lilley is a natural resources investor and longstanding political donor who has been friends with Nigel Farage since the late 1980s, when both worked in commodities. He has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to Reform UK, £580,000 to the Conservative Party between 2013 and 2023, and £150,000 to Vote Leave. He is also a co-founder of the Centre for a Better Britain alongside Mark Thompson. DeSmog revealed that Lilley controls companies owning 12,000 hectares of farmland in Russia's Stavropol region, assets he confirmed he still held during the 2024 general election campaign, stating he had been prevented from selling them by the Russian state.
