Jeremy Hosking

Jeremy Hosking is a hedge fund owner, media owner and political donor. He donated £1.5 million to Vote Leave during the 2016 referendum campaign, £560,000 to the Conservative Party between 2010 and 2019, and has since donated to Reform and its predecessor the Brexit Party. He is the sole funder of the Reclaim Party, having given all £4.2 million of its donation income. He owns The Critic magazine, which takes an editorial stance opposing renewable energy and publishes anti-net-zero and pro-fossil fuel content from employees in the energy industry and from the Global Warming Policy Foundation. In April 2026, DeSmog found that his hedge fund Hosking Partners held investments in oil, gas and coal companies worth £326.5 million, an increase of £114 million since the previous filing.
